  3. Okay just wrapped up with a great day of fishing. I confirmed with the captain yesterday to try to get some tarpon and he told me that it was going to be a very tough go. He wasn't optimistic and then he texted me later saying that he just found a honey hole that is rolling with tarpon. Well with that being said I didn't get much sleep last night and met him at the dock at 8 am. We got right to the spot and they were still there rolling every few minutes. We started with artificials on spinning rods and tried everything but they just did not seem interested. We finally after 3 hours of throwing everything in the tackle box at these fish we hooked got some catfish cut them up and dropped them to the bottom. There is nothing more frustrating then seeing these fish rolling, casting almost hitting them in the head and they just swam away. After about 20 minutes we finally have the bite. What a fight. It jumped over 8 feet. I have some of the fight on video but not the first jump which was insane. After that it slowed down quite a bit and they just didn't seem interested in biting so we moved to try to catch some other species. Right off the bat we hooked a snook and redfish. He was insisting on going for the Grand Slam and he stayed extra to finally hook a trout. I told him I was content on a 3 but he made it his mission to get all four. Unbelievable day and I can finally say I landed the silver King. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

  7. Great advice, thank you. This seems to be one of the cheaper guides in the area from the homework I did. Most guys were around 850. I did find one at 650 but I did not trust that he really knew the waters. Whatever I just want to catch a fish. I went on some Florida fishing forums and he was recommended. Great post.
  8. https://www.joesnook.com/ Just me. This price seems to be consistent with most captains in the area unfortunately. Either way, it's booked.
  9. I'm going on an owner operated tarpon fishing trip next week. I'm wondering how many of you guys will tip a owner operator. Obviously I tip first mates but why would I tip an owner operator? I'm only want to hear from people that don't own and operate boats lol. I'm already paying $800. That's already alot of money for a inshore trip. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

  12. I know, they reopened it but they shut it down temporarily as a knee-jerk reaction and made us look like the bad people. That's when I vowed never to use them. I don't even buy athletic tape there anymore and it's the most convenient place for me to go.
  13. I gave them up when they closed their gun department after Newtown.
  14. I already refuse to go there but... https://www.gunsamerica.com/digest/ceos-dicks-toms-levi-rxr-realty-gun-control/ Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  15. I understand that but if you have a deed in your name and attest that you will be moving to that state at some point that is what the FFL requires. My question is who says that you will or will not or you have a change of heart and you I had every intention of when you purchase the firearm. Just seems vague.
  16. It seems like you have a second house you can skirt around the law by saying you plan on living in Vermont at some point but I'm not sure if that would hold up in court.
  17. I would assume that if it's not in the New Jersey database with a pistol permit then you will be convicted of a felony. That's the only thing that makes sense to me. Now what would be interesting is if you were willed a pistol. I believe you need to have some type of documentation for that too. Some type of documentation that you inherited the pistol which may have to be notarized or something of that nature if you aren't the power of attorney.
  18. I agree, you are right in regards to going to an FFL. It's also good information in regards to being a New Jersey resident buying a pistol even in the Constitution State like Vermont. I think both had good information to offer.
  19. I do agree with you but then it morphed into a second scenario of a primary residence in New Jersey buying a pistol in Vermont where they have a second home. and PS, this post is hypothetical as I do not own any guns. I use kung fu for home invasions.
  20. I know that seems pretty straightforward but again with Vermont being a constitution state and a person owning property in that state and an FFL saying that you can purchase a pistol in Vermont with a tax bill in your name certifying that at some point you will be a resident of that state it seems convoluted.
  21. Okay I didn't realize there might be a difference with the scenarios but let's open up that can of worms. What would be the difference about bringing a pistol back to New Jersey from Vermont either way as long as it was legally obtained in the state of Vermont? The vagueness of the law says that you have to swear you were going to be a Vermont resident at some point. It doesn't even give a timeline. Who's to say that at the point when you purchased it you were planning on being a Vermont resident and then change your mind sometime in the future. It just does not make sense.
