Back when I was hunting ML I was very disappointed in the Powerbelts.  They fly great but don't expand well on deer, as a result they didn't drop deer as quickly as faster expanding bullets.  Also, due to their lack of expansion they left less of a blood trail than other bullets.  

 

I like short blood trails with lots of blood.

When I was I used, TC Black Diamond 245  Powerbelts 2 50 gr Pyrodex, longest I had to track one was 20 yds. watched all fall  , all shots 85-110 yds except 1 in Bud Lake bog that was 60.

80 grains of loose Triple Seven; Harvester crush rib sabots; Hornady 250 grain XTP .45 cal pistol bullets

 

Above in my Thompson Triumph and/or Black Diamond

 

60 grains of black powder and .50 cal patched round ball

in my Tennessee rifle flintlock.

 

60 grains of Black powder and a .50 cal ball-et in my Hawken cap lock.
