weird gene 4pt

This might be one of the older bucks I have gotten pics of so far this year. Body wise he is bigger than all the rest - and almost has a P&Y sized main beam but nothing else. Literally just brow tines and beams...    Never seen one like this. I mean its common to see a spike with brow tines in his first year, making it a 4pt, but for an older buck ?   Seriously thinking about taking him out if I can get him before he breeds.

Jack you have good luck when you name your deer like the tripod. Maybe call this one Jim beams.

I have a similar buck near my property.  Took these photos this AM.  I've seen this same deer for the past two years, this will be the third season seeing this deer.  How do I know?  It has the same antlers every year.  It's a "Y", so I can't take it in my QDM zone.  I think the brow tine might be long enough to take it this year, not 100% sure.

Sorry about the crappy photos.  iPhone zoom.  I was in a rush to get ready for work, so I didn't bust out the decent camera.

Sapere aude.

Audeamus.

When you cannot measure, your knowledge is meager and unsatisfactory.

My uncle killed a buck about 15 years ago that was a massive 5 pointer.  I need to see if I have any pics of it at home that I can scan in and post.  This deer was huge bodied, a definite 200lbs with a massive spread, great big Ys on either side and an extra tine on 1 side.  One of the largest framed racks I've ever seen in person in NJ or PA.  Bad antler genetics I guess, because by all accounts he should have been a spectacular 8 or 10 typical.  I'll try to see if I have any pics of it anywhere.
