Good shad fishing

Fished saturday night with Tracey. Had to work for them but lots of nice roes around.

I had 37 and Tracey had a dozen on her first try at it .

Sunday morning   I fished in a crowd and had 17

Sunday night was nice fishing    in the light rain.

Only two of us there for the first few hours .

Then got joined by OMC and his son .

Had a fish every four to five casts until dark .

Spoons were the most consistent producer on each trip.

OMC even ended the night catching a bunch on the fly rod using a cream sickle spoon

Good job getting her into the sport...  She will surely want to go again.      It was a good weekend of fishing, lot of fish in the river I know guys are still hammering them way down in Yardley and catches are finally improving further north like Port Jervis to Sparrowbush.

Nice going Dan. Cool that she got a hang of it and was catching them too . I'm going tonight after work with my boat down south here. Probably last shot with the boat down here. Taking my uncle who is in his 70s and can't wader fish, bad back and knees.

That's good fishin', Dan! Looks like we have another shadder  on the river. I am super impressed with the renewed interest in shad fishing on the Delaware river. Really impressed with all of the youth photos showing up with the kids taking on these fish

Dan it was a pleasure fishing with you last night and thanks for the spoon it made a difference for me but the kid just kept hooking up with his go to Dart.

Those fish were fun on the fly rod as well but casting sink tips suck.

you catching   the last few on the fly rod with the fog above the treeline would have made an awesome picture.
