First time trying to target Coyote

Got 2 coyotes on cam essentially in my backyard. First time ever having them consistently on cam and saw for sure a change in the deer on cam if any showed up. Needless to say they need to go. Got the special permit and #4 ammo. Will use a call and a spotlight and see how that works. Was astonished this is legal in NJ during the night. 
Any tips?

Would you be opposed to letting a seasoned trapper come in and handle the problem? Or is this more of a personal mission lol?

Do they come in during the day or night? Because if you are astonished now (and if it is during the day), you can take them out with your AR-15 .223

My calling/ kill success is much higher in the day than at night particularly early morning for a variety of reasons.

I just bought my all around and figured what the heck. Bought my coyote/fox tag. Gonna give it a try after winter bow. Just found some #4 buck that I had. Gonna pattern it soon

@Gobblengrunt is right success rates are much much higher in daylight… I’ve killed many of them and only 1 was in the dark . I set up an hour before daylight and start real light on the call as soon as I can see 50–100 yards. Wind direction is critical.

4 buck is no good. In the permit season shot size has to be  4 fine to T only.

They come during the night. Literally at like 2am or I hear them what feels super close at like 11pm.

#4 buck is legal during daylight hunting.  Which is what I will be doing.

As I like to tell people who think the deer hunting regs are confusing -- read the predator hunting regs 

The ammo restrictions are different based on whether you hunt (1) daylight under small game regs, (2) daylight under special predator permit regs, or (3) nighttime under special predator permit regs.

* You can use 20ga, but only during the day.

* You can use a rifle, but only during the day and only with the special predator permit (oh, and don't forget to buy the stupid rifle permit!!)

* Want to use #4 birdshot? You can at night with the permit, but not during the day with the permit (oh, but you can during the day under small game regs, but then if you do that, you must wear orange unlike with the permit)

* Want to use #4 buckshot? You can during the day with the permit, but not at night with the permit.

* Want to use BB? With the permit you can at night and during the day. But not during the day under small game regs.

and on, and on...
