I went to black river, only a few guys there. I assume all the birds were pushed back off the training areas and or killed by hawks or owls etc.

never saw a bird. I will say my pup will go hard through the thick cover without hesitation , other then that he needs a lot more training

At least you got the dog out, surprised to hear only a few guys maybe they didn't know about it, training is always a little tough, but when it all comes together for the first time it's worth it

Yes! We made it out to Tuckahoe on Saturday morning. What beautiful crisp morning. We kicked up 3 Birds and re-flushed 2. Very pleased with the pup. It’s very nice the state throws out birds for practice.

Nice going

Went to Colliers Mills this morning with my GSP. Found no chukars. Some of the cover was very sparse. The area around the power lines had different cover this year. The previous several years had milo. This year had corn?! Totally stunted. Guess the lack of rain was an issue but does planting corn in sand make sense?  Also some of the area around the power lines that had the milo just had some kind of low sparse weeds. Some of the other fields had the usual higher grass. Here are some pictures of the areas.

Great pic, will try to get dog out tomorrow, do you still have to worry about chiggers?

I'm laughing because my lab last year ran full speed and jumped into a wall of sticker bushes!! Cut his dumb ass all up and I had to machete the thicket to free him lol.
