I put out some chukar for the pups today. Had a really nice day and a blast for the dogs and me.

7 birds were put out 7 birds came back. I don’t dizzy them either I toss them up and let them fly away, I keep an eye on where they go but I don’t exactly know this way I have to rely on the dogs and we can hunt for a couple hours rather then 30 minutes.

I did chuckars today as well, beats going to a preserve, cant wait for next year for my dogs second season

Here is a picture of my  results of the last day of the NJ bird season. Released 3 chukars and my GSP found and  pointed them. Also, got to use for the first time my new CZ Bobwhite 20 gauge side by side. CZ had discontinued the Bobwhite model a couple years ago, but just recently brought it back with some changes.  It handles very well and is nicely put together. The triggers are a little heavy , but not an issue for me. For a double gun that is not very expensive I am very pleased with it so far. Next I want to get it out for some clays so I can get a better feel for how it performs.
