Male gsp free to good home

Recommended Posts

About 6 months ago I took in a male gsp.

He's 4 years old

I put a lot of time into him hunting and he is a rock solid point

He does retrieve but not consistently and if the bird isn't dead he has a hard bite to keep it still in his mouth.

He has a great nose and is ready to hunt.

He is an inside dog and is not the typical destructive gsp

He does jump when you first come in the door but he settles down quickly.

Why I can't keep him, he has a dominance issue with my other male gsp

And he has attacked him a few times, the most recent my wife got bit by him when he missed my other gsp and bit her by mistake. With little kids at home and the mood swings over dominance I can't keep him and risk my kids getting bit trying to break up a dog fight.

He is a loving dog and is great with our older female German shepherd mix but she is old and doesn't do much.

Whoever is interested in him

he has to be a only dog or at least the only male dog

I would like him to hunt since that's what he knows and loves to do.

He has to be an inside dog

He is not crated.

Beautiful dog... Someone should jump on this. Don't think he would do well with my male lab, nor could they hunt together (flusher & pointer). If I was between dogs, I would jump on this, I had a great female GSP when I was a teenager and shot a lot of woodcock and pheasants over her.

 Good luck!

Nothing spooks deer more than my stank…

Thanks guys

I want to try to get him in a hunting home but if not

Then my last hope will be the gsp rescue.

He's a good bird dog

He would be perfect for a guy or gal who wants their own bird dog

He can find birds with no problem and holds point

Retrieving needs a little work but he will get the hang of it.

His only issue is he needs to be the only dog

It may be just an issue with other male dogs but I would say to play it safe a only dog house
