Halibut Cheeks

Sorry guys, no pics, but a heads up. 

A new Shop Rite opened in Old Bridge that has expanded fresh fish section. I was buying Salmon but saw fresh Halibut Cheeks for $7.99 lb. 

I bought a pound and fried them up. My Wife said, best fish she has eaten in a long time. 

Never seen any kind of fish cheeks anywhere so I had to jump on it. 

If you have a "super" Shop Rite near you, look into it.

I think cheeks are better than the rest of the halibut .

Been eating Bluefish cheeks for years $7.99 is a steal even in AK and at the cleaning tables In AK not many bother with them ????????

The price was great! They are something you hardly ever see. Since most people are not aware of them, the cost is fairly low.

I am 10 min away and was avoiding it till the rush settled down how was it? other markets near ne Suck, all Fillets have preservatives,  have to go to Belford for Fresh.

Even I can taste the difference from the filets. Denville Seafood has sold them.

It's a huge store. Not used to it yet.

Fish cheeks are great!  Walleye cheeks are my favorite cook em like scallops.  Hot pan with butter salt and pepper.  They are such a treat!

Update. Was at Shop Rite today. No Halibut Cheeks! They had Halibut Fillet @14.99 Lb. The cheeks were $7.99 Lb. They were not previously frozen so I should have bought a few pounds to save. Probably will never see them again.

Yea true but do you really believe he bought halibut cheeks at ShopRite for 799.  I bet it was something much cheaper
