Savage 220 Update

Got it back after 3 months and guess what, the bolt WILL NOT seat in the gun.

A local gunsmith's bolt went into my gun no problem but my bolt would not fit in his gun either! Serial # on bolt matches my gun but for some reason Savage 210 appears a couple times on the  paperwork they sent.

I am just astounded at the incompetence at Savage. Guess I have to send it back again. Good thing hunting season is a long ways off...

This is what they claim they did:

do you and the gunsmith have the same generation 220?

if the hex screw on the underside of the stock is tightened too tight the bolt will not feed, that's on the 1st generation 220s, it may be different on the newer generation models as it has a far different stock

We both have newer gen.

You try the 3 positions of safety when trying to install bolt

Push the safety forward, firing position. Squeeze trigger, then push bolt release forward....bolt should then go in

Maybe ask your roofer to help you out

You must have done a lot of bad things as a kid, chimney, gun, what's next car? you may need an exorcism.

Any luck? Also saw that the base plate screws could be too long........................

Took it to Jim Flynn and he couldn't figure it out either, so back to Savage, who was quick to send a shipping label, like they already knew what they did wrong...

Jim is great. Bought a handgun from him. He was over $200 cheaper than a few places
