First youth hunt was success

Brought my 13 year old son out to Whittingham on Saturday, his first year hunting. Everyone in our group limited out, good times! Many thanks to all involved, NJF&W, dog handlers, and all other volunteers!  
 

He’s psyched to get out again, though I did warn home it will be a lot less action when it’s just me and him with no bird dog…

We went to the Flatbrook fields today. Had a great time slow hunting the sorgam with my friends older dog. His nose still works as he found 4 birds. Two roosters flushed before we could set up. Two shots and two birds. My son is hooked and wants to go again.

This with the full week of youth hunting is probably one of the best programs that this state came up with.
