Switching out gulp colors while fishing,

So heres a question for you guys i know lots of folks have there favorite colors to start the day with but how long do you guys wait till you decide to try a different color if your getting no bites I have to break a bad habit of putting one color on and just leave it on all day.

If you're fishing with other guys its great to start out with everyone using different colors and see what's working, if alone I change frequently until I find what's working

It's not only the colors but  what you are using.  Sometimes cutting off the tip  to shorten your choice of gulp stops missing short bites.

IMO many times color doesn’t mean a thing .

for the few times it does I’m not worrying about it .

if fish are eating squid pinks , pearl , glow colors work 

if on bait fish I try colors resembling that .

many times it’s better to try a different style of bait .

 

Super slow drift try a smaller grub , or a nemesis .

fast drift go to a larger heavier tail grub or a mullet .

 

action draws strikes , more than color does .

Color mattered a ton early season at least few weeks.  I was using orange and watched everyone around me in Manasquan using white.  I was crushing fish and everyone else was asking what I was doing.  Now that the water is warmer it has seemed to matter less, but I have seen more hits on Chanteuse now than orange.  I will high low different colors until I see what they are hitting best.

It ended when they canceled Airwolf. Damn shame I loved that show.
