bwd172
Very slow in zone 4 also. Had 2 does come in at last light, but they came down the hill to my bad shooting side and saw me as I tried to turn.
buckfever1974
Ditto on Zone 4 over at Flatbrook. Back when the early Muzzy season started, you would have thought it was the shotgun opener from years past in terms of the # of cars and shots. I used to hear almost 20 or so in the morning alone across the valley and I only heard a handful if that all day. I didn't see a car on the road we were on. Between no wind, no shots and very, very little critter movement of any kind, it was deathly quiet. If I hadn't really wanted to shoot something, I would have enjoyed it more. Was kind of like that peaceful snowfall without the snow. Edited December 1, 2015 by buckfever1974

Blaming the bumper acorn crop like I have been doing this season is getting old now. Definitely less deer everywhere.
Bucksnbows
The herds are clearly off by as much as 40% over previous years as evidenced by low check ins Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk https://www.troutscapes.com/ https://nativefishcoalition.org/national-board

Rusty
2 bucks per calendar year, Yes, I agree. 3 points on one side minimum (state wide, and except youth days). No, I disagree. 2 antlerless deer per calendar year. This is a great idea for many areas in the state but there are also many areas with overpopulation problems that need more liberal bag limits. In my opinion, a lot of the areas that are over populated, are areas that do not provide many areas to hunt.
Kype
bottom line is, we need more areas and acres to hunt. but we all understand that is problem in NJ. every time i drive for work i see more new construction going up that was once wooded lots. its sad. but i guess that is what comes when you have a state in between two major cities. Rusty
to the last comment. In my opinion, a lot of the areas that are over populated, are areas that do not provide many areas to hunt. You're right, many of them don't, but there are a growing number of these areas that are starting to open up to organized hunts. I've been involved with these hunts for over 20 years and they are becoming more and more popular. Kype and Bucksnbows
Rusty
The reduction of the safety zone for bowhunting has opened up a lot of areas that were previously unhuntable.
