Silver Trout

Caught this really Silver Trout tonight, gave a really good fight and did a lot of jumping. Very orange meat. I have not caught another trout like this in New Jersey ever I don’t think.   What’s the story?

It is possible it made it to the ocean and is sea rung or a steel head don't want you to spot burn but is it possible where u were fishing?

Seen this one other time caught a fall stock holdover in January in the spillway below grenloch. My theory was that she came of age after being stocked.

That’s exactly what I was thinking. I’ve caught a lot of steelhead in Michigan and it’s exactly what a fresh run fish looks like. River does flow into the Delaware.

Somebody else just told me that it could be a kamloops rainbow trout stocked by a club.

I know if the silver trout I caught made it to the sea and back it's the toughest SOB on this planet 😆 🤣. It would have survived big timber creek Delaware River Delaware Bay ocean and back again.

That’s a Musky Trout Hatchery Kamloops rainbow. Club stocked nearby is my best guess. In BC, they are steelhead stock. Brought in to stock Round Valley (Spruce Run?).

Private fishing club that stock their own fish. Tons of them in NJ. Some own land and some rent land.

Club fish is a fish stocked by a private fishing club and they all come from the musky trout hatchery

Does pequest stock any of these. How would one get below grenloch lake camden County? Fall stock breeder?

I happen to buy these same fish for some of my clients or steer them here. Musky Trout Hatchery raises some excellent fish.
