I ordered these , then saw someone questioned that the specs are not the same for these as it’s shown for the normal viper HD.

that thry are possibly made for sales and not the same quality

Oh geez that would be dirty.  I didn't compare specs.   I'll look at them.  You think Vortex would do or allow that?  Seems kinda shady and impacts their brand/rep.

None of the specs from cabelas listing match vortex site .

check colored rings to see each difference

Yeah this probably deserves a question to Vortex.

I ordered them if they don’t match normal specs I will return them .

I love my Diamondbacks in both the 10x42 and 8x42.

only bought these because of a great sale price to go a few levels higher in their glass

Seems like different year models/gens.

Came across this from 2021 post on https://www.rokslide.com/forums/threads/cabelas-viper-hd-10x42-black-friday-sale.241227/post-2352234

Here's the Viper binocular product history:

Gen I: Viper non-HD made in Japan (2007's Field & Stream 'Best of Best' winner).
Gen II: Viper HD made in Japan.
Gen III: Viper HD made in China (also the 2020 special for $299.99)
Gen IV: Viper HD made in China (around 2018).
Gen V: Viper HD made in the Philippines (current product).

They're also saying at least the 2021 Black Friday sale showed 341' FOV and made in Phillipines but tested more at 312-325'.  So not sure what to think but won't know until I get them in hand.

Cabela's model is listed as VPR-4210-HD

Vortex is listed as V201

So my guess is this is the previous gen?  Or Cabela's has their own model for it?

Here's what I got, which is some weird mix of the new and old model, not an exact match to Cabelas or Vortex specs.

Would think they are the current version  because of being made in Philippians .

what is weird is specs and sizes are different on every site selling them .

most sites are showing them as 4.9 wide

also vortex site is showing them with a suggested retail of  650 instead of 499.

so hopefully was a good buy .

mine should be delivered tomorrow

I just got a pair of Diamond back HD 10x42 and like them a lot. My son had purchased the same ones from Cabela’s two years ago and that’s what sold me. I got mine directly from vortex. I had asked vortex customer service if there was a difference since the ones my son got have strata camo. Vortex customer service told me absolutely the same product except the strata camo are exclusive to Cabela’s/Bass pro?
