New Compound bow Hunter

I have been hunting for a good amount of time but I never really been a compound bow hunter because I didn’t have the time to practice so always shot crossbow so now I want to get into compound what type of bows you guys use equipment essentials. Best releases etc

Are there any good shops in your area where they can let you try a few?

As Rusty recommended....go into a shop and ignore everything you hear and shoot every brand. See what feels best to you.

today's compounds are all good....it's a very personal choice of equipment type of sport

A guy I work with swears by Simon and Peter.  It's the only place he uses.  I use the Owls Nest or Strictly Archery.

simon and peter did help me out with cam modules for my Hoyt that nobody else had in the area. held them for me until I could get up there to pick them up.

What kind of releases do you use?

one of my vendors just used Simon Peters and now swears by them

 

bought a new Hoyt.  the personal hands on time they spent with him was invaluable .

 

he is now shooting better than ever

Yes, they know their stuff.  It would be worth the trip.

I actually haven't been there in a couple of years, but have used them many times over 20 years. They were really nice with my young sons when I was starting them out in bowhunting.
