I run a Garmin tracking collar when in the big woods of Maine. I like to run a bell also. 6 days before the dogs and I head north.

I always  Put a bell on my dog. I want to know exactly where he is when we are hunting thick cover.

 a young dog can learn from an older experienced dog out in the field simply by being in the mix?

I tried that a couple times years ago, some just wanted to play others just went off on their own, never tried it in a controlled environment with birds put out, maybe that would have made a difference
