today was one helluva action packed hunt, morning and night.  The only slow period for me was 3 to 4 PM.   I saw it all and it's just starting to break open in Z2, and Z5 is a little ahead by a day or two.    Passed up 3 different 8's today and a 9, and countless other bucks.   Saw over 16 doe tonight, but only the 1.5 year olds were chasing them in z2...      I think tomorrow, Tuesday or Wednesday is that ONE DAY to be in the woods...

You can get some real good steaks at the Market Place in Roxbury, for the same price that venison cost per lb.

I don’t hunt for 3.5 year olds or older bucks for the antlers. I hunt for the meat. A bigger deer means more meat yield for the same butchering fee. I don’t think my kids would appreciate me hanging a deer in the shower to butcher it. Lol

3.5 yr olds aren't spikes, you want meat shoot a doe.

Well that's the wrong way to look at it,  with the times changing 75 percent of guys wont make it out after work.  A huge pet peeve of mine is when people say getting down to the white  standards are dropping.  Keep your standards the same, if everyone kept em that way this state would be amazing, except for the govt but deer hunting would be amazing.

Why do hunters feel the need to impart their standards on others? If the man was doing something illegal or unethical, comment away. But he's doing a legal activity that would most likely not even affect you. So where's the problem?
