Not really.

If a guy has a doe/buck tag he can chase that deer for 2 more months.

Absolutely bullshit that the deer gun season lasts from November to February.

Deer dont get a break till February in most of the state

I know one of the resident bucks in my area was shot on the property next door, the size I don't know, also a PA hunter shot a basket 8 pointer in the leg on opening day, he was posted on the private land I have access to.....that deer from what he told me was limping with little blood...most likey the bucks that survive this past week will be around next year, just bigger

Yeah the gun season is WAY TO LONG!  Wish it was like the old days and have the 6 day buck week and a 1-3 day doe day season the week after and that's it!!!!!!!!!!

I agree deer season in this state is way to long and liberal....there was a time it was needed the goal was met years ago, but this state is all about $$$$$ not a care for the herd or future of hunting, but I also blame the hunters as many can't police themselves cause they think if the state allows it, it's OK. I know of many hunters bitching about the lack of deer seen this late in the season, these are the same people who will continue to hunt till February and kill any all deer that presents them a shot, then come September they repeat their actions......Love the excuses they use to kill 8 plus deer a year....."My friends want deer meat", "My family only eats deer meat" give me a break, tell your friends to go get a hunting license and you eat more then venison.........some just get a hard on to kill, kill, and kill....thinking this makes them a great hunter

I still dont believe its ANYTHING about the state making money.

WHile its legal to shoot 6 bucks IF you pay for those stubs. it costs NOTHING extra to shoot unlimited does after buying 1 permit.

Sure they are making you pay for those extra few bucks. but IF you just want to shoot deer. buying one permit allows you to shoot HUNDREDS of does if you wanted to.

IF the state wanted to make money on deer harvests we would be buying a permit for every deer we shoot like it is in other states.

They just want the deer SHOT period, its all about keeping the insurance companies and the farmers content here .

They think giving guys the most allowable days to hunt will meet those harvest numbers they want, but in actuality not giving the deer a break makes the der harder to see in daylight hours.

Even having a week break between the seasons would allow a much better chance at having quality hunts instead of just sitting in the woods.

What sucks is that it all falls on deaf ears. State don't want to hear it as they waive fees to butcher the deer for the hungry while letting farmers kill at will. And most bait hunters are not buying tons of corn to kill does . The farmer is not selling corn to alleviate the deer problem, but selling it to make up for his "losses" and putting it in his pocket while denying most who ask to hunt his property to alleviate any deer problem to feed the hungry. Yep, that makes sense.

Traffic and insurance costs are behind a lot of it, but at the same time the law allows the deer to flourish with the commercialism and sales tax collected in the vast array of goods sold over the counter. Its in line with keeping a junkie supplied and then complaining how bad the drug problem is.
