Forget contacting just your reps, contact them ALL. I just sent an email to everyone in the assembly and senate on this.

To make it easy, ANJRPC publishes every email for every rep here - just copy and paste into your "To:" line of your email program and you'll send the message to everyone in the legislature:

On the 20th of Oct that's right this Thursday, The assembly floor will vote to ban the DP trap again. What they want to do is change the intent of the 1984 legislation to fit what they want today.  truth is they want to stop trapping. And the DP is the first step.  They are doing this with false statement, (I am not allowed to say the word lies)   This is a very bad place to be, as if they can change intent on this legislation they can then do it anywhere they want just because they don't like something.  Science and BMP testing shows that the DP trap or Encapsulating trap is not the same as the steel jawed trap that was banned. yet in a video the AR groups sent out to the Legislators showed a Steel Jawed leg hold in a clear box and said is what NJ Fish and Wildlife is calling a Encapsulating trap.    we need to call every Assemblymen and women this week every day. we need to make the phone ring off the wall.  they need to not only hear from trappers but also outdoorsmen and women.   Please take 5 mins every day till Thursday to call at least your 2 assembly persons and tell them you oppose ACR25 and you oppose them trying to change intent of the 1984 legislation.

Shoot over to the NJ fur harvesters Face Book page for example letter and list of assembly persons. NJ Trappers also has list of Assembly persons

These resolutions arent about our snares Haskell...

These are about the dogproof raccoon trap just authorized last year.

The danger in these resolutions is a "revisionist's history" on the 1984 legislation.  Antis are now misrepresenting the intent of the 84 legislation saying the intent was to end trapping..  The actual 84 legislation banned only the steel jaw leg hold trap and actually mandated Rutgers University to conduct a study to develop an alternative trap..that never happened due to funding but clearly the intent in 1984 was not to abolish trapping like theyre stating now.

Bottom line is WIldlife Management does not belong in the hands of the Legislature..It should be left to Fish and WIldlife.
