"Season bag limit is nine antlerless deer and ONE antlered deer. Two deer may be taken at a time."

 

We are no longer unlimited does ...  limited to ...... 9.  Gee... thanks. That will help.

I found out last night what happened with the screw up.  To protect both the guilty and innocent, one Division employee emailed the wrong info to another, and that wrong info was shared widely in a meeting the other night and caused a lot of headaches for Division staff.  Hence why they jumped out there today with their email blast about the seasons this fall.

Zone I hunt happy to see they are only allowing one anterless deer and one buck for each season, as in the past it was 2 anterless deer or one of each

Bummer, no bucks with MZ prior to 6 day.  I always loved taking those 2 days off.  Quiet, good deer movement.

I'm not reading it that way.  Get the buck tag as per usual according to the pdf that was attached that I am reading.  Maybe different zone.  I am in Zone 6.

Zone 6 didn't change.    

 

There are numerous communities with management hunts in zone 6, but there is also a lot state land with low deer numbers.  Regulation Set #4,  zone 6,  limits the number of deer that gun hunters can take but allows bowhunters unlimited antlerless harvest.  This is a pretty good compromise when trying to manage deer in a state like NJ.

The great EAB controversy was for nothing.....well, at least they settled in quickly.  I'm glad I can hunt bucks in Sept.  Looks like most reg sets lost those two early muzzy buck days.....other than that, my zones all look the same.

This is great news. My zone is only letting 5 antler less and 1 antlered buck allowed per season. Too bad the farmers will still kill everything and use their farmer permit. But it will keep some guys from killing every deer they see. It's a good start though. Better than unlimited doe.
