I have a preference for the 223.... only because of the availability of ammo...

I can shoot it alot and not break the vank....

I also prefer a 55 grain Buller for coyotes as opposed to the 25 grains max in .17hmrs

.223 if I was strictly hunting yotes but here in NJ you are going to get a lot more fox responding than yotes and hitting a fox with a .223 does serious damage. And because of this I use .204 and love it. I have a .223 and a .22-250. The .204 does the least amount of fur damage and still puts them down.
