Another dismal year

Looking like another year with no ice around here in Sussex County. What a shame. No ice in the Pocconos or even southern Maine yet, where I would usually travel to for early ice.

January monthly forecast looks cold but who knows. I’m off to Vermont this week with a bunch of family. Done just were there for Xmas and no snow to snowmobile.

50F in the Poconos last week. This week looks to be in the 40Fs. Snow possible Sat night but we will have to see what the temps are.

not looking good, usually need a good deep freeze starting end of december through mid January to build a good base to get through those usual february thaws.   I say 5% chance of safe ice on any decent size NJ lakes this winter.

Doesn’t look good but that can change very quickly with a short deep freeze. Temps look to be dropping pretty good next week as is. Still time……

My fault ….i bought a Stryker Ice Suit , new underwater cam , and fishfinder for last years season. Looks like another year of just keeping it packed away.

And fly fishing will be excellent this winter

If you want to get your fix you may have to head north. I will get a few trips in up in the Adirondacks this winter.

I’m not sure about the adirondacks, but I will sometimes go visit my sister in Maine and fish up there. They don’t have ice yet either, which is unheard of up there.
