Brown Thrasher

Today I had a bird on my suet feeder that I had never seen before.  Best guess is that it was a brown thrasher.  Does anyone know if they are normally seen in south Jersey???

Yes, they are pretty common.  Saw a couple at Forsythe two weeks ago.  They are pretty big.

BT is about 10” and wren 1/2 the size. They also look apart

I just realized why you said it. I believed Little M was the Original poster, I did not see the formakos post. So yes it could have been a wren or even an egret. I was not there :-)

I guess it would be uncommon for a Thrasher to be on a suet feeder but not for Carolina Wrens.  

I once had an egret feeding on mine up here in Sussex County, but then double-guessed myself the next day when I got up and saw how much was gone from the handle-bottle.

It was definitely not a wren.  At least as big as a mature bluejay.  Pretty sure it was a thrasher.  Thanks for the feedback.
