What kind of tree is this.

Recommended Posts

if i go by bark - TULIP is closest match, and the leaves do look close to what I just saw. Wet Tulip is regarded as next to impossible to split by hand.  I think what I think are "balls" on the tree in fall, are just the dried up flowers...

Tulip is super light even when still wet .
and you can split it with a hatchet .
there isn’t an easier tree to split

the second tree looks like a tulip .
don’t think it’s the same as the cut tree .
wanna cut it down to check 😂

when you get to be my age, just talking about wood is enough!!!

Haven't you noticed the TAYLOR HAMMERS fascination with wood and wood cutting and burning?  My god we host entire parties around this !

1.  Tulip's heartwood is slightly darker and greenish in color,  so the felled tree can't be Tulip.

2.  The leaves are oak, so they do not belong in this thread.

3.   The standing tree with your hand on it looks like Cottonwood.

4.  And if I'm free this weekend I'll come over and drink all of,  .  .  .   I mean help you ID and cut down those trees!
