Any ice out there?

Anyone know of any safe ice (3+inches)?  Typically after Christmas you can find a lake or two with some safe enough ice to fish.  I know in PA. There’s some lakes with 5-6”.  Still need to get all my supplies to really make it a fun thing but was gonna our my Xmas bonus to some ice fishing equipment

Thanks!  I have tip ups from my old man.  I’m more along the lines of fish finder and a tent/heater to make it a fun enjoyable day.  
 

the question really is, is it worth the investment into the equipment with the lack of ice we’ve had for the last few years.  
 

I can go to PA but I’d go with friends who all have the gadgets for the day I could need.

I have a Vexlar and under water camera system that I would be willing to sell if interested. 6 inch auger, ice rods and reels, spoons.

People were on steenykill lake on top of HP last week, but I wouldn't trust even that ice now.  No trout in there anyway

a deep freeze and ice fishing would be nice!

As mentioned in this month's issue of Fur-Fish-Game magazine, there is no ice that is 100% safe. There are always underwater springs, beaver channels, inlets and outlets. Anywhere there is moving water the ice will be thinner. Please be careful out there!
