First shad

I'm up in fishes Eddie new York. Went trout fishing with no luck.. seen fish fining don out on a small orange grub with a 1/8 jig head. Right away fish on had shad till the sun wnt below trees than it shut off. Good go again tomorrow will post pics. Didn't habe phone down there. But did arrive to this

We are seeing more and more eagles along the river.

That's a Shad EATER not a shad  . Surprised you were getting them. The last time I was up north there fishing I saw ton of them finning and lot of spawned out dead ones but could not get any to hit. Fun to catch when you get into them.

Nice. The shad have provided a great experience for many fishermen with this years run. Never saw so many being caught. They are pretty much done for this year. There should be a great return of juveniles to grow in the ocean and hopefully insure great runs in the future. The eagle certainly takes benefit from it all.
