Bear hunter participation ?

I just read an article that shocked me as to how many states contributed  hunters to our bear hunt. Anyone want to take a stab at a guess?

We are one of the best states for black bear hunting so I would have to say more then half of this country and even Canada contributed hunters to our bear hunt

I would travel anywhere in the country to hunt a world class size animal for $2 !!! most every tag I buy to hunt an animal out of state cost me a minimum of $300 and up to $1000 plus !!!

Yeah there is no other state that you can get a bear tag for that cheap and have a chance of taking a world class bear

They should raise the out of state cost on the tag. So that our deer tags can come down in price

Game commission is a joke charging 2 bucks a tag.

 

They had no choice in order to get the bear hunt to begin with.  If they charged $28 like a permit deer tag, the antis would have said the only reason for the hunt was to make money.  So the Council is not a joke, they got it at the time and did the right thing.  But to change license and permit fees requires a vote in the state legislature, not by the Fish & Game Council.  Given the issues with antis in both houses of our state's legislature, they could then end certain forms of hunting which is something they can't do unless license fee changes come before them.  

 

I had my business partner from Montana buy his bear permit last year even though we were after a buck.  So that is one of the 30 states for certain.

$2 tag for bear for everyone.  Should charge non residents  a premium and drop some of our permit fees for other game down some.
