Always Fun Catching Exotics and Hybrids……pics

Went to Lake Ida today with a dozen live shiners and it didn’t disappoint. This Florida weather has been tough this year along with the fishing. The wind and cold has kept me off the water a lot, but today was a better day. I spent more time today shooting the bull with a local guide, drinking his IPA,s  and getting local intel than fishing. I met him when I asked him to take a pic of me with my first clown fish that I caught. I finished the day off with 2 nice clowns and a hybrid Striper. 
 

p.s. first time trying to use a Go Pro…….lots of cursing.

I believe it is a 30/34 WaterSnake. I run a Dakota 54ah lithium and never ran out of power yet.

Great place you went to fish.   Wind is killer this winter, I mainly run offshore but been more at the dock than not.  Charter guys are going broke.

Charter guys and bait shops also. This Winter is taking a toll on them.

Lots of cursing. Lots of video of my face looking down at the camera and saying WTF! The camera is voice activated and apparently I was using the wrong wording at times. These knife clown fish are like miniature tarpon, lots of jumping out of the water and I thought I had some good video of them doing that. I was excited to see the video of their arial displays. Well when I got home there was no video of the clown fish and lots of me cursing at the camera. Mrs rocky got a laugh at it, but I didn’t!
