Stock quite dark for an A5, could be a Remington Mod 11, he also hunted pheasant at Stafford Forge with Lou G and ducks at Carvel Island Gun Club.

That dark of a stock my guess is savage 720wich is the predecessor to the 745 The savages and rem model 11 were made using tge browning pattent but you could be right as 1905 is when the model 11 was first produced
