Nicer back here. Have to cross river or walk 90 minutes to get here, then the spot I'm in is hidden. Found nice scrapes and he's torn apart beech saplings. Made a blind.

Just too far of a drag for afternoon sits. Pics later, maybe, if you don't tell me to go jump in a lake again

Found a red oak dropping nuts

The spot across the river, between thick saplings along a swamp on 2 sides and stand of thick hemlocks with blowdowns piled up and tangles of briers on other side.  Can't walk through either way.

Heading out in a few to blind I set up last Sunday on my folks property overlooking grassy area at edge of hardwoods. It's about 20yds from two giant white oaks that deer have been feeding under.  I have some good natural brush around the blind on all sides, but I'm not sure if I should put some extra brush on top of the blind?

They just got property last February so this season has been trial and error with learning deer patterns, routines, etc.  Thinking maybe next year I may plant a 1/2-1 acre food plot in grassy area at edge of hardwoods.

Confession: I wish I could be there to help you Bob I really do I really admire you!!.. Ain't easy hunting where you hunt believe me I know! You're like the last Mohican in my book!.. I'm a former mountain man logged thousands of hours and thousands of miles in the Kinnatitty ridges,(spelled on purpose).. unfortunately 42 years of my dumb ass smoking cigarettes caught up to me I have second stage COPD. Making every effort this.I was always a tree climber back in the baker days. 2 summit's collecting dust in the garage. year to get back in the game to set up ground hub on properties in White House and Reddington, I've been scouting the properties, I pulled my truck up into the driveway and watch the fields as they walk back and forth like pets, doe's fawns and yearlings, been monitoring the dominant winds, biding my time, trick or treat is getting near! Nice flat land, recovery accessibility by truck or ATV. Wish me luck.

Time for a live hunt on W&W with @hunter boband @3Blade

Get in the woods Robert. Mike said he will assist you and give you a hand. We all know you can shoot. Knock one down before permit begins...
