When to start mineral sites?

Recommended Posts

Thanks Bill - not to sound stupid but what is the difference between them?

Idk tbh. I think there are more minerals in it They just seem to like the red more than the white stock salt blocks. Plus the white blocks really stand out in the woods. Someone can see your spot 100 or 200 yards away. Lol.

Start the site as they shed their antlers. As they heal and start growing new ones is when they need it the most. Also helps the does with better healthier fawns. If there is no water source close by you can always put out a tub with water. They will hit the site then look for water.

Maybe that explains why my mineral site hasn't been hit in a few days.. Temps dropped and the pond froze over..

I'll see cause it should thaw this week.

Tickner's only had one bag of Di-cal left the other day when I picked up mine and they had none the week before and had to order it in.

The red trace mineral blocks from tractor supply will attract deer but don't have the necessary minerals for good antler growth and for lactating does. But they are better than nothing.
