650+ lb bear - behind the scenes

Not many process photos for this one.. just a before and after really.

 

I know many guys are not a fan of the aggressive pose on black bears, but the customer gets what they want in my shop... and it's pretty cool looking on such a giant bear! Also, this bear was cheaper to do open mouth than closed mouth due to its size and form options.. so my client chose to get more for his money and go with the aggressive pose.

 

I'll share photos in a week or 2 once it's completed.

I'm one of those that's not a fan of the aggressive black bear pose, but that doesn't look too bad (the pose, not your work, which I think is very good).  Maybe its because its front arms are not reared out in front of it.  What do you call that mount?  All my "half mounts" are basically the entire front half of the bear.  Is it just a "head mount'?  Can you tell me how much that costs, as opposed to a half-mount for a same-sized bear?

I always love to see a bear that size done in a full mount. Takes up a lot of space, costs an arm and a leg but the impact is awe inspiring. Can't wait to see it done.

This mount is considered a shoulder mount (like a deer)

 

Bear shoulder mounts are $750

 

Open mouth adds $250 to any bear mount

 

 

Half life size bears are $1900

 

Life size bears are $2500+

 

Rugs are $1250+

 

Tan skin $350+

Looks like a familiar bear. The head is huge. A shame the sheer size of the gut isn't portrayed but that's what pics are for. Great job. Was a fun drag for what it was of its the one I'm thinking of.
