Your preference for how "it" happens

I actually like it somewhere in the middle.  Too quick and the adrenaline is still pumping too hard and too long and the anticipation nearly kills me.  Ideally, I just like a couple of minutes to control my breathing and prep for the shot

If I had to pick one of those two scenarios, it would be split second. The less time for me to screw it up the better.

I would prefer a longer look to know what I'm going to shoot. I have not had many times that I got a surprise by a buck and knew it was a shooter  in seconds. My big one in my avatar was a surprise and only had seconds to pick my bow off the hanger, release on, draw, stop him and shoot. That was probably the only time in NJ there was no thought if it was a shooter or not.

For me I would rather be surprised and react to the situation at hand which most of the time results in getting the buck. If I have too much time to think about what is going to possibly happen then it usually get's all screwed up in the end lol

 I prefer it to be somewhat of a surprise or where I have seen it a long way off and comes in purposeful.  I hate it and most of my screwed up shot have been when I have them close and milling around for upwards of a half hour or more. My brain gets in the way in this scenario and I almost undoubtedly shoot over or under them. LOL

Long dragged out hunt gives me plenty of time to watch and settle. When it's quick I have buck fever pretty bad. So I would rather watch for a while. Ad long as I'm not burning daylight.
