Beautiful gun. I have 4 Belgian made a5’s.  I inherited them from my dad. They are all 12 gauge. Wouldn’t sell them for anything.

dont want to sound like a know it all , iam not , but are you sure you dont have a standard weight 16 ga. instead of a sweet 16 , 1911 date seems wrong , the sweet sixteen came out 1937

my final 2 cents , sweet sixteens have 3 holes drilled in barrel band , extra milling done inside of receiver , extra wood taken from inside of stock , all to reduce weight about 1/4 lb.,to make it lighter than the standard sixteen also , could be 2 and 9/16 chamber , good luck

Safety is not built into front of trigeer guard.  Sweet Sixteen is engraved on the receiver and it has as gold plated trigger.  I have questioned Browning about the 1911 date since the first Sweet Sixteen engraved versions were introduced in 1947.  Awaiting reply.

well thats good news , ive had good and bad results with gun customer service depts. , some give great info , some tell you anything to get off the phone , glad to hear you got a real deal sweet sixteen , good luck
