Congrats!  I’m used to PA where turkeys have to have a beard to be harvested.  So if you shout a gobbler with no beard it’s technically an illegal harvest. I guess here is red head is dead?  That will clear up a lot for me lol.  Thanks!

But you can shoot a bearded hen in PA....but shouldn't

Yes you can and I have seen many over the years.  Of course never would shoot one either.
