DMZ5 - bizarre, not a single acorn to be found

My white oaks are loaded up and starting to drop. Bitternut and kingnut hickories also. Zone 10

I spent the morning in a river bottom near the Sussex Fair Grounds and the Pin oaks there are loaded with acorns.

good wood to burn, hard as hell to split - but the pin acorns are basically chipmunk food.  I don't think the squirrels waste much time on them if there are bigger nuts to crack...
