I have land to rent for hunting.

Is it OK to post details here??

Kenneth Ellman

As posted below by "8 Pointer" you have additional information.

I am open to any reasonable offers. The $3500 price is in part based upon needs of Forest operation.

I now post again what was written by "8 Pointer"  and what I had posted elsewhere.

Whenever the land is leased I try to cooperate and work with whoever that person is to keep them happy.

Post again below:

From " 8 Pointer"

I spoke to Mr Ellman yesterday. Here is all the info in an email from him in case anyone is interested.

Land is at 114 Mary Jones Road area in Hampton Township, NJ 07860
Term is ONE YEAR.
Cost is $3500 per year negotiable depending upon various things.
Payable in full at time of signing lease.
You must have insurance and name me as an additional insured.
Lots of animals I am told.
You can use for Hunting and Camping if you wish. No off road or 4x4 etc. Must protect forest at all times.
Might run some electricity into some parts of Forest.
There is also a small pond that I sometimes allow fishing but it only has Goldfish and KOI and Shiners and Crayfish.
Kids have fun there. Small pond but kids take a kayak or small boat to look around and catch things.
Swimming pool on property and I sometimes allow use in return for maintaining it.
Two different entrances on land to get access. Place to park your car on property when hunting.
When we are doing Forestry or biology work at that time it may affect hunting but we try to coordinate with you.
If you take an animal you must make a form report to me. Just for biology research on property.
Water is available if needed.
Warning this property has lots of ticks. You cannot use it unless you spray your clothing with REPEL etc.
I am told we have turkey, bear, deer etc.
Might get year round hunting authorization if useful. It is available from State for the Farm.

ALSO:

I can sometimes arrange storage on property if useful to you.

Whoever leases property can set up whatever stands or blinds they wish.

We expect that person who has Hunting Rights will work with us to prevent other persons from Hunting or Trespassing, including any illegal tree cutting. We do call State Police as needed.

As I say we want to have a good relationship with whoever we work with.

As I have posed elsewhere I repeat again below:

HUNTING RIGHTS ON TREE FARM LAND AVAILABLE.
I HAVE ABOUT 30+ acres available on TREE FARM for Hunting Rights.
Tree Farm is about 50 acres, but all of it is not necessarily Huntable.
Area surrounding Hunting Rights probably creates a beneficial buffer aiding wildlife attraction.
Hampton Township, Sussex County, near Kemah Lake area.
Pond on property which also seems to attract wildlife.
I am told this is a good hunting area. One year rental available and
renewable . Off road parking available. On site secure Storage may be available.
Posted and gated. You get gate key.
Looking for $3500 per year, negotiable. Open to your offers.
May be able to get you year round hunting permit.
Such permit if available would be exempt from Hunting Season restrictions.
Otherwise normal Hunting Season restrictions apply.
Please call with any inquiries.
You must have insurance and name me as additional insured.
Please contact me.
Looking for people who will respect and look out for tree farm and research zone.
Thank you.
Kenneth Ellman

Just checked map.. it's right near bear swamp wma.

Shot my turkey not far from there and found a nice1/2 shed rack not far from there either.. I'm sure good hunting, just priced about double the going rate we normally pay for leases... would need to be a dynamite spot to get that kind of $.. or maybe 2 guys split it if the spot is good year round. Terrain means a lot. Acorn crop means a lot. Crops mean alot. Surrounding Pressure means alot. All take into account when bidding on property leases..

I will never understand paying to hunt a deer in NJ, let alone 3500 dollars! The WMAs are empty during Fall and permit bow.

We pay it so we don't drive over an hour to hunt just to show up and have the hunt ruined at prime time by some random person who is coming in late or tracking a wounded deer at prime time...

Well worth club dues to know who is where on private land... and to top it off, our gear doesn't get stolen..

Guess I am lucky. I hunt the same WMA for years, same spot, rarely see another hunter. Never had anything stolen. The place is empty. It's under a 10 minute drive from my house. I get 2 or 3 deer a season.

I drive by other WMAs on perfect Fall days, not a single car in the parking lot. I still says the WMAs are empty until the 6 day.

I hunt private properties for the last ten years. The best move I ever made.
