I've never fly fished for them but we did use mulberries on a bare hook and the carp would slurp them right off the surface...

I have fished for carp most of my life being from the dirty, filthy, Camden area of the Peoples Republic of NJ.

 

Actually used flies made from dog hair for my Bugs.  And chenille & yarn for mulberry flies.

 

Mulberry flies fished under the Mulberry tree is literally like shooting fish in a barrel.

 

Carp on a 4 to 6 weight rod…. your in for a ride.

 

Kind of like King Salmon fishing, hook up to a run away bus.
