5/23 hunt

out in 12, sitting in a blind, no decoy, hoping 1 comes to check out my occasional hen calls.  No roost gobbles heard.  Figuring he will come in silent if he shows at all.

Good luck! Get a bird - I'll consider it good karma for me. I'll be out this afternoon - I'm concentrating on getting my target Tom, Don Juan, that I've been seeing at this spot since B week. Late afternoon yesterday I saw him with 3 jakes feeding in a field, then I watched them dust themselves for a half hour. I almost had them interested enough to come over after their bath, then a hen showed up and that was all she wrote. Don Juan followed the hen away. Later he came back, this time with 3 hens!! He must be a looker, all the ladies want to be around him, and he never leaves their side. I had one hen come in within 50 yards, but Don never came close. He's a big, fat, smart ol' bird. I have until Friday. Man, I would love to get this bird - from a distance (and I've only seen him at 75+ yards) he seems to be a  large bird.

Good luck today ! We spent some time hopping around 14 yesterday , saw two gobblers headed back to roost . We were covered in ticks even after spraying down . Called it a season after that .
