This weather can’t be good for the eggs

With the rain and the cold we’ve been getting, it’s definitely not good for the eggs. Hopefully the hens are taking good care of them.

I am hoping the Poults will be born later this Spring. Windy and cold up here in Orange County,NY. Took today off from Turkey Hunting.

Wind is far less an issue than cold rain, sleet or snow. Up here in Morris County, we only got 0.09” of rain this week. Not enough to keep hens off their nests for prolonged periods of time.

In the last 2 weeks we got a lot more rain then that in Warren country

True, but that was also early for hens on eggs in nests.

I got hens just dropping eggs randomly around the yard

I’ve already found two nests that have been raided and destroyed.
