Just seeing this thread now, and can answer on why the date was different than usual as a member of AB. The early date this year was unfortunate, but beyond our control.  Youth Turkey Hunting day was on our usual third Saturday, and since the club is situated in Whittingham WMA, the land had to be available for the hunt day as well as the rest of spring gobbler season. The weekend before was Easter weekend, and the consensus was that turnout would be very poor due to that, so we made the choice to move it up another week, knowing we were probably going to lose some shooters to the trout opening day.

Thanks to all who did come out anyway - we tried our best to deal with the hand we were dealt.
