On a more serious note, that shot was still a bit further back than I prefer.  I want the bolt to blow through the opposite front leg / shoulder.  That puts the arrow up by the heart and in the front lobes of the lungs.  They are down in seconds when you hit them there.    

 

 

I do the same thing and most of the time the bolt breaks the opposite shoulder or leg, making them go down or not getting away very far

well? Sound travels waaaaaay faster that 410fps, and the reaction time of deer to sound is 3/10sec, I read a while back, forget where, but even the fastest bows take something 4-5/10ths of a sec to travel 40 yards, and 1/10-2/10's at 20 or less, or there about, under 20 with a loud bow is a kill, but that deer is running for the hills!! Lol, as I think about it I think it was in seasons of the whitetail by John Ozoga, a deers reflexes and reaction time is nooooo joke!
