Bad weather and heat are the reasons these numbers are down but the antis will point to the reduced numbers as indicators of overhunting and reduced populations.

buckfever, I agree. Either way they twist the facts in their favor. I do think that we knocked the numbers back good last year, but in a couple years when the numbers are outta control again are they gonna say yes, there is an overpopulation? Absolutely not. When the numbers are high the loonies say that F&W is lying and making up the numbers, when the numbers are low they say Look you see, they killed them all. SMH

these idiots need to understand that when you consistently  see bear walking around feeding in your neighborhood thats a good sign the population is getting out of control wild animals don't like or want to be around humans....
