Why do I love crappies?

Just so you know....they stocked 5000 black crappie in Merrill Creek Reservoir. They were excess fish from the warm water hatchery at Hackettstown.

Be ok in 5 years not know.

But harder to locate. but once you do that is your hot spot

Crappies are definitely a good eating FW fish. Ive caught a lot of slabs fishing for bass with jerkbaits and traps around pre spawn. They are usually the better ones when you catch em like that. Mirror lake, squan, pink just to name a few places that have some fatties in there

Couldn't find any calicos today but ran into a few of these mamas

Fried up some  bluegills in crumbs with cocktail sauce. The  crappies i just didn't locate. But was fishing a little creek that flows into the walkill. I did get into some smallies real good that was fun as hell!
