Hah... you're both wrong.

It is a date that can fluctuate and occurs when you've been telling everyone for 3 months what day season opener is, and yet they still schedule an appointment or family get together for that day, thus making it the shortest day :rofl:

Yes! For nine months friends don't do anything. Seem to be busy every weekend from October to January though!

Yup, mornings are still getting shorter.  Afternoons have been getting longer for a couple of weeks now.
