This time of the year I look in every nest I can. Most of the time I find And remove them

Why catbirds?  They are native and eat a ton of insects.  I kill as many cowbirds (although native, not to the east coast), as I can.  Same for house sparrows and starlings.

Gimme a break. I was just a kid and didn't know any better. Easy targets as they didn't move much while they sat there and scowled at you. Sparrows and starlings were on the hit list, too
