Anyone trying a stick bow for the first time hunting this season?

I shoot targets w my longbow more than anything. If you choose to hunt with a longbow, you should be proficient and practice everyday. It takes A LOT of practice.

 

Just as important is to know your limit and don't be tempted to shoot beyond it.  My limit, shooting instinctively, is 15 yards.

Love those bows. True works of art and I will own one of his bows when I get into traditional archery without a doubt.

The books are still on the coffee table!   I did read one which was about instinctive shooting and the lessons are ingrained, I remember the analogy about throwing a football, there is no "sight" and you don't really "aim", but yet with practice one can easily be accurate throwing a baseball or football. 

 

Hehehehe, funny stuff there. It is more fun flinging arrows then reading about it.
