WTB pellet gun

Looking to pick up a pellet gun this weekend. Before I take a ride to cabelas I figure I’d see if anyone on here has anything for sale.

NJ considers a pellet gun a firearm so buying at Cabelas and bringing it home would make you a felon. Just saying.

Maybe without a FID. But it is actually completely legal, it’d be just like any other firearm purchase. Of course they do sell in PA pellet guns that are not NJ compliant.

I walked in Cabelas, picked a pellet gun off the rack, walked up to the counter and paid, and walked out (no FID required, no NICS). Pellet guns are toys everywhere else.

 

Rule is - if you bought it legal in another state, you can bring it in NJ - as duckduck says, so long as its legal to possess here (no silencing technology).

 

BTW: its the same with muzzleloaders. I know someone who ordered a muzzy online at Cabelas, went to the store to pick it up, and they laughed at him when he asked how long it would take for the background check and when they needed to see his FID. Muzzies don't require any of that when purchasing in Delaware either. Purchased legally, drove it home to NJ still a completely law-abiding citizen.

Incorrect, long guns can be purchased out of state at Cabelas with a NJ FID Card. If it not required for purchase of the pellet gun, you are legal for possession once you enter NJ with a NJ FID Card

Incorrect. A pellet gun in a handgun form requires a Handgun Permit in NJ. Doesn't matter where you buy it, once you bring it into NJ it is an illegal possession by the black and white of NJ Law

These threads remind me of something. Years ago was in an NJ outdoor store. Mom walks up to gun counter and stays she wants to buy a pellet rifle for her son. After being told she needs an FID card, guy behind the counter says, "just go to PA." He just told her to commit a felony!?

 

I was an an antique store in NJ. Guy was selling all sorts of Billy clubs, black jacks, saps, koshs, and even old air rifles! I asked him, he said,"just don't get caught with it."

 

Prepper store selling knock off ASP batons.

 

Flea markets selling steel ninja stars, and small firecrackers and sparklers.

 

All this stuff is illegal in NJ to the best of my knowledge, and no one seems to care.
