Ignore the date/time stamp on the one Bushnell camera.  Recent battery change without resetting that function....

 

Nothing gargantuan, but some respectable bears are here every day, and often during daylight hours.

 

 

 

 

 

.......this is the smallest lone bear we have coming in.  Our sow with her 2 cubs nearly only come in at night which makes sense given the higher than normal number of boars we have around this year.

Yeah, this is a very odd year for us.  We normally are covered up by sows and cubs, but this year it's mostly boars with some fat ones.  There is only one restaurant anywhere nearby and no other dumpsters, so our bears are usually lean as they are "Jersey mountain bears".  They pretty much only have acorns and hickory nuts along with whatever browse they can find unless we had a great blueberry and huckleberry year (?) this past summer.  Surprised to see fats bears which is not the norm for us.  And we're having a lousy mast crop year as has been the case 4 out of the last 5 years with last fall being the lone exception where we are.  Not a farm field within many, many miles of our area either - so no corn fed bruins.  The locals all know to keep their garbage in and have for decades, so it's not that either.  Strange year, but a good strange for us!
